Taken over by restaurant group Bockholmengruppen last year, the previously-shuttered Le Bar is to be born again as Österlånggatan 17. Historically, the building that houses the restaurant was inhabited by Hindrich Nywardt, a chap who used to organise the transportation of wine carriages all over the city. The new concept is inspired by his efforts to provide Stockholm’s inhabitants with a steady supply of good wine, ensuing a neighbourhood spot with generous opening hours and a homey vibe.
Personally, we love feasting on the mid-sized dishes – tuna tartar with melon, ponzu dressing and sesame seeds, reindeer pâté and eggplant caviar – and sipping on that steady stream of wine.
