Carolina Gahn

Carolina Gahn is 28 years old, born and bred in a big family in Stockholm’s Östermalm. She’s a freelancing PR consultant, running her own company *Gahn Fishing*, and among other things she is the Global PR manager for WeSC and a well-known face on the Stockholm party scene.

Describe your perfect night out!

My perfect night out starts with a long dinner at home with friends and family. A lot of good wine, food, music and laughter before you head downtown for some dancing and cocktail-drinking. It´s all about having fun with your crowd and I don´t mind if new fun people spontaneously crash my dinner. I really love the Mediterranean way of welcoming people into a group. The more the merrier I say.

What do you think is the most interesting trend currently in Stockholm’s nightlife?

I think the most interesting trend is the big music scene and all the great new restaurants opening up. I´m quite boring when it comes to nightlife in general – I go where there is good music and to my friends’ places where they can´t kick me out!

What is your favourite nightspot?

The member’s bar Bernie’s at Nosh & Chow is my favourite nightspot of all time. I practically see myself as a family member, aka silent unpaid co-hostess.

I don´t go out late any more but If I do so I enjoy going to places with good music and people like the night clubs Fou (next to Rose) and V at Sturecompagniet.

Any bars and restaurants that you like?

I enjoy restaurants where you can hang out in their bars after dinner, as I am a lazy bar hopper. My favourite bars and restaurants in the centre of town are Nosh&Chow/Bernies, Milles/Strandvägen 1, Nybrogatan 38 – I love their Moscow Mules – Sanna´s, PA & Co and of course the old-time favourites Teatergrillen, Teaterbaren and Riche.

Favourite restaurants outside Stureplan are Pastis and Bistro Ruby in Gamla Stan – have a cocktail at Corner Club before dinner. If I am on Söder you will definitely find me at La Veccia Signoria or Nytorget 6 and the bars around Nytorget.

What’s in the pipeline at the moment?

My plan is to be happy with whatever I take on. The long-term plan is to have a big family and before that I will work my ass off creating the global empire of Gahn Fishing!

What do you think about the future of Stockholm’s night life?

I think very highly of Stockholm nightlife. Stockholm has a very high standard when it comes to bars and restaurants. I think Stockholm will be the future’s number one city for nightlife in Europe. Here you can have fun everywhere with cool fun people. And there is great music almost everywhere.

How could it get even better?

Get rid of people that are not cool and have bad attitudes. That includes everything from guests to bartenders and bouncers.

Do you see any new trends going on in Stockholm in general?

People in Stockholm are always very trendy in general regarding art, fashion and music.
