Lovers And Other Strangers is a new dj-collective with the goal to play music they love for people they love: ladies, women and girls! The members, Madeleine “Pink Punk” Frankie, Mira “Mymlan” Wall, Tess Törner, Iida “Junebug” Hellström and Clara “Clarence” Nilsson play pro bono. All the money they collect from playing goes to feministic organizations or related activities.

Why should one visit your club?

Well, if you like music and want to make a difference then there isn’t really any reason not to come. It’s an easy and fun way of showing your respect for the work that the organizations actually do for all the girls and oppressed people in our society.

What can we expect during your nights?

You can always expect happy dj’s, punk rock, indie pop, 60’s/70’s, doo wop’s and a whole lot more from our record stash. No one sits still during our dj-sets, that’s one thing for sure!

What’s the most interesting trend in the Stockholm night life scene for the moment?

We just love to have fun and that’s definitely not standing in line for a super hot extra special night club…. we bring the fun were we go!

What is your personal favourite night spot?

We. Love. Night. Swimming. So, basically it’s Långholmen by night time in the summer that’s the only rule to remember. Other than that? Probably someone’s balcony for long evening conversations with sparkling drinks in tall glasses. But, if you really want to know a cool place we visit every once in a while it’s probably worth mentioning Under Bron! It’s open real late for being a Stockholm venue, has great music, cool cats and humid dance floors.

Any good bars or restaurants that you like?

Mbargo, Indigo or Bar Brooklyn at Debaser Strand. At least that’s were most of us go most of the times when we want to face the pillow with the make up still on.

What are your plans for the future?

Become bigger, and bigger and BIGGER. We want our own nightclub at some cool venue. Bring even more money for the vulnerable and threatened.

What do you think about the future of Stockholm nightlife?

It’s a negative trend of venues closing at the moment, like really important scenes for the DIY-bands and such. This is a real shame, I mean come on! We’re the capital of Sweden and we can’t even present more than three, four or maybe five venues for bands to play at? (Not counting shitty bars with small stages and stupid owners trying to make profit out of non-profit bands and organizations.) And, Stockholm needs more places that close later than 1am…. especially on Södermalm.

How else can it get better?

Entrepreneurs of the world, look this way! Stockholm is in deep need of more scenes for smaller-scale bands to get on! No, but seriously. We need more physical stages for bands here.
