Meaning “mother” in Indonesian, new restaurant venture Ibu features the kitchen of Bali and aims to be your first port of call in the evenings, before you head on out into the Stockholm nightlife.

Apart from surfing and yoga, there’s actually more to Bali. We asked restaurateur Damon Rasti, who’s also behind Vasastan’s Mexican Yuc, to tell us about the Balinese kitchen. “The island has become a gastronomic destination, with places like, for example, Locavore which is one of Asia’s best restaurants. The various tastes that define the Balinese kitchen are coconut, ginger, turmeric, fruits and peanuts. But we’ll be aiming for some kind of fusion”.

Ibu is located in connection with Mother on Mäster Samuelsgatan and will come with high spirits, the volume cranked up and a cocktail list sure to provide some exotic spice.

Ibu, Mäster Samuelsgatan 19.
