The release of Bombay Bicycle Club’s debut album I Had The Blues But I Shook Them Loose established the North Londoners as one of the NME’s hottest bands of 2009. It was only three albums later that they managed to cross the North Sea for their highly-acclaimed Swedish debut at the 2012 Hultsfred Festival.
February sees the release of their 4th studio album, So Long, See You Tomorrow and the band is returning to our shores for a second time when they visit Debaser Medis on February 12th for their first club gig in Stockholm. New single, Carry Me sees the band moving in a more dancefloor-friendly direction and those of us who know it can hardly wait to hear it live.
In September 2011, P3 music editors Linda Nordeman and Germund Stenhag shunned the big hits of the day in favour of naming BBC’s Shuffle as their song of the week. Carry Me looks like it’s headed in the same direction.
THE RAMONA FLOWERS (UK)
Bristol-based band The Ramona Flowers released their first album in 2012. Recorded at the Distillery studio in Bath, the record saw them collaborating with Jason Cox (Gorillaz, Blur, Jamie T, Professor Green). Their latest single “Brighter” was released in 2013 along with accompanying remixes of “Everything Everything” and “Mt Wolf.”
