When Timbuktu and Damn! goes out on stage at Gröna Lund on May 5th they are doing the first gig of sixtyfive. That’s right, 65. This year’s concert program is not surprisingly the largest in the history of Gröna Lund and offers everything from the traditional Sven-Bertil Taube concert, to Lionel Richie, Silvana Imam and Hollywood Vampires with Alice Cooper, Johnny Depp and Joe Perry.
The 65 concerts on the amusement park’s two stages are covering a pretty wide artistic range. The park’s management says in a press release that the goal is to provide something for every taste and we guess that’s why the programme includes both teen idols (Troye Sivan, Marcus & Martinus, Darin, Danny Saucedo), rock icons (Whitesnake, Status Quo, Deep Purple), reggae stars (Morgan Heritage, Syster Sol), hip hop talents (Silvana Imam, Timbuktu, Ison & Phil), pop idols (Lionel Richie, Suede, Miriam Bryant), punkrockers (NOFX, Iggy Pop), EDM (Otto Knows, Dada Life) as well as two Hollywood stars (Johnny Depp in Hollywood Vampires and Juliette Lewis in Juliette and the Licks).
The programme at the Dansbanan stage is pretty packed as well, and will this summer offer 88 nights of swedish dansband music, tango and salsa. The popular children’s show from last year will come back on Lilla scenen, but with a new name: Bosse & Julia – en dans på tivolit. The show is a humorous love story filled with dance and music, choreographed and directed by Fredrik “Benke” Rydman from Bounce and the script is written by Peter Magnusson.
