Who would have though that a Canadian woman, with a Mexican dad and an Irish mom, would make music that sounds like she’s spent her entire life on a porch down in Nashville, Tennessee with a guitar in hand?

The Toronto-born Lindi Ortega has been trampling around the underground music scene of Canada’s largest city, as an independent artist, for almost ten years. During this time, she has released two albums and an EP. When Brandon Flowers of The Killers released his solo album Flamingo, Linda was asked to come on tour with him as a back-up singer.

Her debut album, The Taste of Forbidden Fruit, was critically acclaimed and the song Nothing At All was used in an online campaign for a famous skin care product. Her second album was described as, “the quintessential album of the trials, tribulations, and triumphs of life as an indie singer.”

Now, Lindi is coming to Stockholm and Södra Teatern, to perform her melancholic country music. Her sound most definitely has the pizzazz needed to create uniqueness in a sea of talented country musicians, hailing from the North American continent.

Linda Ortega is at Södra Teatern on February 17.
