The retro seductiveness of Kraviz’s debut album cover is a good forebear of its contents. Dimly-lit deep house painted with soft brush strokes, the Russian’s eponymous LP sits comfortably in the same bracket as Nicolas Jaar’s Space Is Only A Noise: a floor album for weeknight hangovers and fuzzy come-downs, a rare record that combines a nerdy textural precision with undeniable sensuality. Overlong, imperfect, but essential.
