GIG: THE NAKED AND FAMOUS
New Zealanders The Naked And Famous were part of the wave of perky synth-pop bands that rolled in at the end of the noughties, along with bands like Passion Pit, Grouplove and The Temper Trap. Their debut record Passive Me, Aggressive You birthed the singles ‘Punching In A Dream’ and ‘Young Blood’ which to date have racked up over 120m Spotify plays between them. Their new record, Simple Forms is out now and they come to Nalen this Friday.

MUSICAL: THE BOOK OF MORMON
Missionary work in a foreign country is an almost obligatory part of life for members of the The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, aka Mormons. That fact made for fruitful source material for South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone, as well as their co-writer Robert Lopez, who used it as the plot hook for the enormo-success musical The Book Of Mormon. A chaotically controversial show where the ministers are menaced by irrelevance, African dictators and the very existence of coffee, it’s now been reworked into Swedish for its premiere at Chinateatern in January. The first time the musical has been performed in a non-English language, if you have a high tolerance for offensiveness and jokes on the lower end of the maturity scale it might be for you.
